• magisterrex Retro Games

I've been gaming since the days of Pong and still own a working Atari 2600. I tend to ramble on about retro games, whether they be board games, video games or PC games. Sometimes I digress. Decades after earning it, I'm finally putting the skills I learned while completing my history degree from the University of Victoria to good use. Or so I think. If you're into classic old school gaming, this blog is for you!

Do You Remember…QuestBusters: The Adventurers’ Journal?

Back before the Internet facilitated the growth of small, web-based publishers, the mail-order service brought unique, independent views to the gaming community.  Everything from role-playing modules to gaming fanzines could be found in tiny advertisements, and if you sent away for it, an equal range of quality could be found in your mailbox shortly thereafter.  One of the more interesting mail order items was QuestBusters: The Adventurers’ Journal, published monthly and edited by Shay Addams.  The newsletter ran from 1984 to 1996, and was filled with reviews, news, opinions, and gameplay tips.  Presented below, for your nostalgic pleasure, is a .pdf copy of the June, 1991 (Vol. VIII #6) edition.  Click on the image to read it in its original glory!
