• magisterrex Retro Games

I've been gaming since the days of Pong and still own a working Atari 2600. I tend to ramble on about retro games, whether they be board games, video games or PC games. Sometimes I digress. Decades after earning it, I'm finally putting the skills I learned while completing my history degree from the University of Victoria to good use. Or so I think. If you're into classic old school gaming, this blog is for you!

But seriously, google, where’s our checkout?

Back on January 27, 2010, I asked Where’s Our google Checkout? Over a year later, I’m still wondering why Canada does not have a google Checkout option.

Over. A. Year. Later.

What in the world is the holdup?  Banking regulations? Resistance from the credit card companies? PayPal owns Canada? Did someone from the google corporate office prank call Stephen Harper?  It has to be something.

Canada’s dollar is worth more the the US greenback.  Canada’s economy continues to chug along, even during the global downturn.  There are over 30 million Canadians.  Surely there is a market to be found here.

The vaporware that has been the Canadian version of google Checkout has only been matched by Duke Nukem Forever, and even Duke is getting released.  Or maybe not – I might have just cursed us all with this comparison.

But, seriously, google, where’s our checkout?

Just how slowly is google Checkout coming to Canada?
